Hello again,
Hope you're all having a nice Monday :)
Well, I'd like to show you the card that I am entering for the August SPARKS challenge over at Paper Smooches:
I made this card for a couple of friends of ours who helped us out during a difficult time, and we really appreciated it!!! I know they like feminine and pretty things, and I hope they like vintage-looking things too, because...:
...there's what I made. (Sorry about the photo - it looks much nicer in real life, but I just can't seem to get the lighting right with my camera!!!)
I got 3 new sets from Paper Smooches last week, and after staring at them in adoration for days on end, I decided to actually break them out and put them to use!
I used 'Sugar Rush' (one of the new sets), and 'Pretty Phrases' on this card - I love how all PS stamps compliment each other so well.
My take on the challenge photo was to use the colour scheme, so there is some blue, some fuschia, some white and some brown, all tied together with a vintage look.
First I inked up a page from an old book (it's from 'Emma' by Jane Austen - one of my favourites! Don't worry, it's not my only copy ;) in Vintage Photo distress ink, and then adhered a strip of patterned paper with some ribbon attached to it. Then I distressed and stamped onto a piece of cream cardstock, and finally adhered a cupcake that I had copic-coloured. There is a blob of Glossy Accents on the cherry to give it some shine.
I mounted the whole thing onto a square card base, et voila!
I actually used a sketch on this, too; I used one of Kim's 'Designer Drafts'. They're just brilliant; I whipped up 4 cards this afternoon using those sketches - it just made everything so eary! So you'll be seeing more of those soon :)
Well, hope you liked the card; I'm off to bed, now!
Take care :)
