Hello again!
Sorry I've left it a while since my last post - work's been crazy, and then we headed to Oxford for the day, yesterday, with a LARGE group of friends (ie. there were loads of us; it's not my friends that are large :)!
It was a lovely day, although it did rain for about 30mins. Someone very forward-thinking had brought a gazebo and put it up in the park, though, so we all huddled up under that (plus a make-shift tent created using a huge plastic sheet tied to the gazebo, a tree and the ground! It's great having guys around :), and finished off our picnic.
So. With all that activity, my posting has been neglected; sorry about that!
But without further ado, let's get on to the next card!
This one is second in my anniversary-run. It's for my little sister and her husband - they were married a year last week:
And a close-up of those little pies:
Now first of all I have to say, I know the 'cutie pies' part of the sentiment is a little crooked and not centred! I desperately wanted to make it again because I'm a perfectionist, but I made it late at night, and this card was almost a week late, and I just HAD to send it!
As you can probably see, this one wasn't too tricky to make. I stamped the images, coloured with copics and cut them, stamped them again on the card base, and paper-pieced. I used a darker brown on my 'sister' on the right, and a lighter brown on her Italian 'husband' on the left :)
The paper cases were coloured and then I added some diamond stickles to make them sparkle.
The 'cutie pies' sentiment was adapted from the 'My Silly Valentine' set; I stamped the original sentiment (Jenni Bowlin cough syrup ink), and added the 's' from a separate sentiment in the set.
The little hearts were stamped, Copic-coloured, and had glossy accents put over top to make them pop.
I went round the edge of the card with Victorian Velvet distress ink, and that tied it all together.
Hope you like it!

ReplyDeleteIf you hadn't said anything about the sentiment not being centered, I totally would NOT have noticed. LoL... But I know what you mean about being a perfectionist. I'm like that too! haha.
ReplyDeleteAnyways, this card is cute, cute, cute! I totally love your cutie pie images, and I like the colors you used too. I'm so glad you joined us at the Lawnscaping challenge. :)
