I {heart} New Stamps

Hi everyone,

Sorry it’s been a while since my last post; life just sort of took over the last week, and I was feeling waaaaaay too tired to post.

I wasn’t too tired to for my craft desk though, and I’ve been crafting up a storm! I’ve got loads of lovely new cards to share, including some that use new stamps I got in the post last week.

Before I share though, I wanted to let you know about the ‘Young Crafters Unite’ blog hop that is happening on July 1st, organised by Britta Swiderski ( and Marie/Legojenta (

The hop invites us all to express how we are young. It could be that we are young in age, young at heart or, as Brit put it, are new to the world of crafting and feel like a kid in a sweetshop :)
However you feel young, you’re invited to participate in the hop, the theme of which is ‘Our Favourite Things’. For more info, go on over to and sign up by 27th June. The hop is July 1st.

Okay! So. Today’s card was based on (this) sketch for the Mojo Monday challenge:

It was a very simple take, but I got my new Paper Smooches stamps just yesterday and was desperate to break them out! I also wanted to make a semi masculine card, and this one got the approval of Mr. Blackburn, so I think it was a success :)

This one was a bit of a doddle; I stamped a piece of kraft cardstock with the HA Envelope Pattern stamp in Shabby Shutters distress ink, inked it up in Vintage Photo distress ink, and finally inked and adhered my sentiment strip, plus the two tomatoes. To finish it off I added some faux stitching. It's got a nice sort of aged, vintage leather look, which I like.

It’s shaping up to be another busy week, but hopefully I’ll get to indulge in some craft-therapy this weekend to gear me up and get me going!

Ooh, also, I’m trying my hand at shooting some video tutorials for you all. The only problem is that I can’t seem to do it right!!! My hands are either out of view or I haven’t zoomed in properly so it’s difficult to see things properly... I’d really appreciate hints and tips from anyone!

Hope you have a fun weekend!
